4.3 Mother Knows Best: A Tale of the Old Witch.Because sometimes, your trip ends before the in-flight movie does, and you really don’t want to ask the pilot to circle the airport just so you can catch the finale.Because sometimes, you fall asleep watching a mediocre rental, and would rather return it on time than pay two more bucks just to see the end.Because sometimes, your TiVo timer didn’t get it quite right, and cut off the crucial final minutes of something that won’t get shown again for six months.Because sometimes, you’re not interested in seeing that movie everyone’s talking about but are dying to know what the hubbub is about anyway.Because sometimes, you vaguely remember an old movie that had some sort of plot twist at the end of it, but can’t remember what it was.Because sometimes, the surprise “spoiler” ending is the only reason you’d pay $11 to see what is otherwise a turkey of a film.Mother Gothel, no longer having Rapunzel’s hair to keep her young, begins to age rapidly she trips and falls out the window to her death. Just as she is about to sing (singing “activates” the magic in her hair) Flynn, who doesn’t want her to live as Mother Gothel’s slave, cuts Rapunzel’s hair, thus destroying the magic in it.
Mother Gothel agrees and unties Rapunzel. However, she promises Mother Gothel that she will never try to leave if she is allowed to heal Flynn (earlier in the movie, Rapunzel tells Flynn that once she make a promise she never breaks it).
Rapunzel tells Mother Gothel that she will never stop fighting and trying to get away from her. While he’s distracted, Mother Gothel sneaks up behind Flynn and stabs him so that her secret (kidnapping Rapunzel) will die with him.
Meanwhile, Maximus the horse helps break Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) out of jail and takes him to Rapunzel’s tower.Īfter making his way up the tower, Flynn climes through the window only to see that Rapunzel is tied up and gagged. Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore) realizes that she is the missing princess and refuses to let Mother Gothel (Donna Murphy) use her hair for her own gain any longer.
